The Plot

Disgraced musician ANDREW THOMAS is in hiding – cut off from performing, his past, and himself.

Eight years after winning a TV singing competition, Andrew’s still reeling after the collapse of his career and the death of his father – famous comedian ALAN THOMAS.

After a drink-driving incident, Andrew is sentenced to community service at Sanctuary House, a rural homeless shelter, where he must mentor four vulnerable teens. With the shelter in disrepair, its formidable manager, JUDITH HUBBARD, hopes Andrew might bring attention to their situation. When he arrives in his pyjamas, she’s not so sure.

At first, Andrew is out of his depth. But when he invites the teens to create an anthem, music unlocks a bond within them: spirited brothers, ASH and JOEY; GENIE; and their de factor leader, NATASHA.

As he settles into his unlikely role, Andrew also finds himself drawn to SEBASTIAN WATERS – a medic and ex-resident at Sanctuary House. A quiet counterpoint to his cheeky, guarded exterior, Sebastian encourages him to let his walls down.

Anxious about the teens’ futures, Andrew digs into their pasts. But when he confronts Natasha’s volatile mother, CAROL MEYERS, over her neglect, she retaliates by filing a restraining order. Forced to suspend him, Judith cuts Andrew off from the teens. Worse still, Andrew uncovers a dangerous truth about MR MATTHEWS, the shelter’s wealthy benefactor – one that threatens everything they’ve built.

Separated from Sanctuary House, and unable to fully face his growing feelings for Sebastian, Andrew must make a choice:

Retreat back into shame?
Or stand up – and risk freedom – for his found family?
